For the record: native northern English, lived here all my life, can't tell Liverpool from Brummie from Newcastle from Mancunian, never mind South African from Aussie or Swedish from Lapp or Canadian from American or even Russian from Spanish, for that matter. (Also seem to have a positive prejudice towards northern central/eastern European accents and English received pronunciation. No, I've no idea why in the former case.)
