Have you seen the official commissioning priorities for daytime shows? It's a laugh riot. "The faces of daytime are all respected for their knowledge, charm and enthusiasm" … "The success and appreciation of new genres introduced over the last few years on BBC ONE suggest an audience appetite for more challenging programmes."

Not, as I've said, that I'm part of the target audience for these slots in the programming timetable. I just have an Apis mellifera in my beret about patronising crap – sure, make it, just don't show it on the beeb.

I'm not sure about what you've said on the first page though that they should repeat Randall and Hopkirk, as much as I agree that old shows should not be forgotten about, I would be quite annoyed if my licence fee was going towards filling the airspace with repeated shows. I want to see more well-made unique content.

Otherwise though, your views are similar to mine. I think they should put a lot more effort into the niche audiences, because we just won't get this anywhere else.

BBC is great, and I think they should continue. But I think they need to work just a little bit harder.

But I like the whole quirkiness of the rhyme, despite being slightly scared of (ptero)-dactyls.
