Pushed and pulled the joints and hinges 'til it looked all squares and oblongs

Quite chuffed1 today, actually.

I showed my brother a post I wrote (no context required, nothing spoilery) and not only did he like it, he cottoned onto the sneaky experimental thing I did with it without my having to point it out. I think he's the only person to so far.

(Even mum didn't, until I spilled the beans when I was telling her off for switching a word around without asking me. She said just about every phrase in the first paragraph was a cliché, too, which is kinda worrying - I didn't think I'd gone that overboard - but then said it worked drama-wise because the rest was much less so. Mothers are great. They're always helpful if you ever start to believe you're your own worst critic.)

I know it's no masterpiece, but yeah. As an experiment, I enjoyed it.

My back's feeling better, AND I somehow coordinated whole chains of muscles into doing one or two real pressups in addition to the wimp pushups. Gourds, I are so machismo.

1 I advise you not to look this up on Urban Dictionary.
