Furry, multi-horned and impressive (news trawl)
Thursday, 8 February 2007, 11:48"Let's face it, we want to save polar bears because they are furry and impressive and the Brazilian earwig doesn't get the same consideration. I'm sure if we had been around at the time we would have wanted to save Triceratops, too."
--BBC: Europe diary: Cars and carbon
I'm sure we bloody wouldn't have! Maybe some of the nancy bleeding hearts in Ug City would've found ceratopsians as beautiful as I do, but out in the countryside you know they'd be going "OOGA MENACE CLUB TO DEATH".
(I only skimmed this article. Because of the Ailurus fulgens fulgens. Note picture alt text, unless they've fixed it: "A wet panda". [edit: they fixed it :D] Listening skills in journalism!)
It's gonna be King Kimba's finest fliiiing (not a typo, a conspiracy theory!)
For you fans of late C19th English houses.
[edit:] I originally linked the previous pic by mistake; pasted in the wrong URL (what, did nobody wonder why I was talking about ice in the commentary?) - meant to link this one. As I originally said: this one, and this probably says something sad about my mental landscape, made me think of Frozone from The Incredibles.
