The right sort of dislike

Friday, 20 April 2007, 22:26

Well, I think a persistently no-name character finally let me name her. Hello... Frerene? Frerena? Something like that.

(As I said to Anke, "She didn't like anything I suggested.
And she's not supposed to like it, mind you, but she says it was the wrong sort of dislike."
But I think I've hit upon the right sort of dislike, or she's sick of waiting.)

Now yay for the story where I planned to début her (after a fashion...) being busted probably never to be revived. :(

That doesn't matter, though, because - well, firstly, while I'd planned for Frerene to get a walk-on appearance in that story, it really would have been brief and only one other writer would have been likely to care. :D And secondly, it's of no consequence to her real storyline, which is one that I guess can't be messed up too much by other writers losing interest.

So I don't mind in this case. Still, it always seems to be the way. When I plan lots of cool stuff for a storyboard instead of thinking "eh, I'll go with the flow", that's when antelope apathy strikes...

...And it frustrates me. Much as I generally pretend it doesn't.

In time for Monday (23rd April, St George's day) I've been revamping our Saint George piece with the usual Mutt trademarks: more dragon (aye, we actually had a George article that didn't mention the dragon), archaic language (Middle English poetry translation FTW - what other job lets you do this kind of random thing?) and added lashings of teh artz on every page (I luv you, Wikimedia Commons).

Writing alt text is fun.

Platitude of the Day

I couldn't possibly pass any kind of thoroughly approving and admiring comment on this, nor make any remark either to imply that I am snarfing their RSS feed or to encourage you to do the same.

Also, from the same person or persons, a short story.
