MRI scanners are very big, very noisy and very cool.

They also send me straight to sleep. The clatter, at an entirely bearable volume with standard-issue earplugs in, was so lulling that it zonked me out. I don't think any of us was expecting that.

It was a head scan, so I didn't even have to take off any clothing apart from my wrist-mounted security blanket watch. My hands were so uncoordinated, shaky and feeble of grip that the nurse had to put in the earplugs for me. You know those little yellow foam things you roll between your fingertips and hoick into your conchae? Foam thingies 1, Mutt 0. Oh boy, I felt like a real neuterly neuter then, I tell you.

Results should be with the consultant, and thence with me, within about two weeks.

A chance word by Anke this evening reminded me of my semi-resolution. Just in time!

One THIRD of America is obese according to that article. Slen heard some whacked-ass statistic the other night, something about an entire 1% being basically too huge to get out of bed, on one of these "feel good about yourself by watching fat people - so horrendous it's fascinating!" programmes. I can't stand those. They rank with "When Volcanoes Attack!!!" type things as far as tasteless, voyeuristic Schadenfreude goes.
